The Vink rotating cattlebrush consists of a rotating cylindrical brush, driven by an electric motor in the axle. It is elastically suspended form a rafter in the stable. As soon as the cow makes contact with the brush the motor starts turning clockwise or anticlockwise, depending on the direction from witch the cow approaches the brush. Firstly this makes the brushing more effective, secondly it ensures a longer brush life. Because of the elastic suspension and the long brushhairs the animal can never be brushed too forcefully, so dammage to the skin or the brush is prevented.
