Vertox Whole Wheat Bait, based on the active substance brodifacoum, is licensed for professional use indoors and is a single-feed product. It is extremely effective and will prove useful when dealing with infestations in sewers and water treatment areas, or where rodent populations are proving difficult to control using other anticoagulants.

Brodifacoum is a single-feed second generation anticoagulant which is effective against rats and mice. In the UK brodifacoum has limited use and is restricted to indoor use only by professionals.

Anticoagulants work by reducing the ability of the rodent’s blood to clot. As with all anticoagulants, accidental poisoning with brodifacoum can be antidoted with Vitamin K1.

When compared with other anticoagulant rodenticides, brodifacoum has an excellent level of activity against the brown rat and house mouse. The ‘farm yard’ profile of brodifacoum is very aggressive, and special care should be taken when using brodifacoum baits.
