Click to enlarge Breck-a-Sol is a liquid acaricide containing 99.9% garlic juice concentrate with adjuvant for the reduction of infestations of poultry red mite in poultry houses. For use on: Internal surfaces of poultry sheds when red mites have been identified. It is suited for spot applications to cracks and crevices and bands along features such as wall trims. Make sure all eggs hvae been collected and cleared from the building before spraying. Timing: Spray directly onto red mite colonies and in the harbourages, at an average poultry house temperature of 20 degrees centegrade (70 degrees farenheit). Dose rate: A solution of Breck-a-Sol is prepared by pre-mixing throughly equal volumes of  garlic juice concentrate and adjuvant. The mixture is the diluted 3% v/v with water (3 parts product/adjuvant mix with 97 parts water) and sprayed at a rate of 200ml/M2 of surface. The initial powerful odour from mixing will reduce quickly and areas sprayed will be free of any product odour in approximately 12 hours. Coverage: Simulated studies have shown that good contact of Breck-a-Sol solution with red mite colonies is essential for maximum efficacy. Application to heavily soiled surfaces will reduce efficacy. Maximum number of treatments: 10 treatments in 55 weeks in the same building or shed, with no more than 2 applications in a 7 day period in the same building. Application pattern: Breck-a-Sol should be used on a cyclical basis with other products/control techniques to reduce the risk of developing resistance. Latest time of application: When used in the presence of poultry, there must be a maximum  interval of 5 days between last treatment and slaughter. Shelf life: Has a maximum shelf life of 6 months and stocks must be used by the specified date. Area treated: 1 litre of Breck-a-Sol when diluted as per instructions will treat and area of approx 166 M2.
